Submissions for Analog Cookbook are now closed.
Look out for Issue 3 in September
We typically look for:
- Films shot on celluloid film or analog video to feature
- Film processing recipes
- Works of art about analog film culture (i.e. a collage in tribute of Carolee Schneemann)
- Written works (essays, thoughts on film, etc)
- Camera guides (i.e. how to shoot with bolex)
Analog Cookbook seeks to connect filmmakers and artists working with non-digital media in order to celebrate and share one another’s works of art and processes. While Analog Cookbook in predominantly focused on moving image art, we are also open to other forms analog art creations–still photography, analog sound, etc.
We seek to democratize filmmaking and art creation and challenge hierarchies that create gatekeeping. In the spirit of sharing, we encourage artists submitting work for consideration to include a bit about their practice, processing recipe, thoughts on analog art creation, etc
